The Full Painting

Angelic
24 x 30 original acrylic on canvas

Here's a picture of the full painting I'd posted earlier. It's pretty much done except for a little work on the bling. Getting a decent picture's a near impossibity in there parts lately. The wind has been really fierce and today's the first day in nearly a week that it hasn't rained. But that dang wind's still howling! I'm hoping tomorrow brings nice calm weather. I have several paintings I'd like to take serious photos of and if only the weather would cooperate! You can't take a good pic indoors since the flash goes off, the lighting's off, the colours don't appear accurate . . . This photography thing's the worse part about showing your art. But I do hope you all enjoy this one anyway!

The Latest

Here's what I've been working on lately. I had put this painting aside for a while and came back to it with renewed enthusiasm. It's not complete yet and this shot is a close-up of the head. It's a large piece, 24 x 30. The camera seems to have picked up too much light in this shot also. In person, the light is much more subdued and just shows a nice glow. The reins still need to be added and I've still got some work on the background left to do, but it's almost there! I'd seen this horse at a fair last summer, and instantly knew I would someday paint it.

The Belgian painting is still waiting to be completed also, but I'm working on it!

The Rodeo Crew Part Deux!

The Rodeo Crew II: The Brat Pack
24 x 20 original acrylic on canvas

Here's part two of the Rodeo Crew series. I'm thinking it's done, but as always, I'll look at this for a while to see if it needs anything else. I kept the same atmosphere as the first one although the horses' poses are quite different, along with the placement of the fence. The horses peeking from the rear are also a cute touch!

I'm still working on the large piece I'd previously mentioned, and also started on a close-up piece of a Belgian.

This coming Sunday, I will be at the Carusso Club in Sudbury showing some work for the annual Club Richelieu des femmes annual fashion show and expo. There will be other tables with people showing crafts and other wares. It would be really neat to meet someone there who says to me, "Hi! I read on your blog you'd be here . . ."

Stay tuned for the next piece to be posted. It'll probably be the larger dark piece I've been working on. Until then . . .
